Think angelic features, pastels, kissable lips and rosy blushes – when you’re going for a romantic beauty look, you want to be a bit girly and super sweet. Getting a bit romantic when it comes to your beauty style is happily enough actually pretty easy, and even if you’re all thumbs when it comes to applying sophisticated looks, you’ll be able to master these in a jiffy. So get your flirt on and in the mood for romance with these gorgeous looks.

Peachy pout

Your lips are a good place to start when it comes to creating a romantic look for obvious reasons! And although bold colours and striking matt effects are very much in vogue right now, you’re going to want to tone it down for a more classically pretty pout.

Soft peachy shades and pinky lip tints are just what you need for a kissable pout. Take your time to swatch and pick out the right shade to suit your skin tone, and also make sure that the lippie is going to stay put! If you have a tendency to rub off your lipstick within an hour or so of putting it on, try out natural shades of lip stains for a great solution.

Simpering and blushing

What could be cuter or more appropriate than a lovely rosy blush, and it is a good way to counteract the dulling effects that winter can unfortunately have on our skin. From cream blushers to cheek stains and more traditional powders, there is such a great choice that you can get the right product for your skin type and tone.

Just remember to be subtle though; you want the blush to look natural so less really is more. You don’t want to be left red-faced after all!

Sweet as candy eye-shadow

Forget sultry smoky eyes and defined cat-eye flicks, and instead take your eye makeup inspiration from a candy shop colour palette. Pale lemon, rose pink, sky blue, mint green and more – these shades are so fun to play around with and are particularly great for daytime dates.

If you find that with paler shades of shadow that the powder has a tendency to disappear and fade, then try out fat eye shadow pencils. They’re precise, will give a more intense hit of colour and are fun to use too. They are also ideal for more defined looks and you can easily two-tone shades for a pretty pastel fusion that is going to look sweet as candy!

So for romantic makeup, think natural, sheer and feminine shades that are going to look great whether you’re being wined and dined or taking a romantic stroll.
